About Osteopathy in Ludlow / Ludlow Osteopathy
What is Osteopathy? The definition on the NHS website is that, "Osteopathy is a way of detecting, treating and preventing health problems by moving, stretching and massaging a person's muscles and joints." Osteopaths, not unlike Chiropractors, can also manipulate the skeleton so as to reset bones that have become 'subluxed' (partially dislocated out of position) although they also use a variety of more subtle techniques to achieve skeletal realignment should the patient prefer them to.
As an osteopath, I am an Allied Health Professional and am a full member of the General Osteopathic Council and Institute of Osteopathy. You will receive a treatment that is professional and clinically relevant and appropriate towards your recovery.
There a only a few Ludlow osteopaths and I operate my osteopath services in my home-based Ludlow clinic. As a Ludlow osteopath, I am capable, qualified and experienced to be able to test and diagnose many orthopaedic conditions. Thereafter I can treat with osteopath techniques and give you the tools for rehabilitation of your condition or refer you onto mainstream services, such as private referrals for MRIs or imaging services or referrals to orthopaedic specialist consultants.
As a Ludlow based osteopath, I also maintain professional contact with other local health professionals, such as GPs, nurses, physiotherapists, and often receive referrals from them. Because I am a statutorily registered Allied Health Professional, you can often claim osteopath treatment expenses on your private health insurance.
Born in Ludlow, I travelled to Staffordshire University to learn to be an osteopath and completed my osteopath degree to a very high standard (1st Class honours) in order that I could treat in my Ludlow clinic using the broad range of treatment techniques that an osteopath has.
If you would like to visit a Ludlow osteopath for an appointment then please feel confident to contact me. I enjoy discussing whether I can help and whether attending an osteopathic appointment is the most relevant treatment strategy for you. Ludlow is a very attractive town to visit anyway and an osteopathic appointment could be the way forwards to ridding yourself of any nagging orthopaedic pains and injuries, whether chronic (long term) or acute (recently injured).
Thank you
